Literature
The truly outstanding writers and poets have always been touched by the supernatural, the divine world. They sought answers to the tough questions of life and frequently called God as recipient with their poems. In the poetic form of human feelings and thoughts, divine poems were born.
In today's fast-pace world, it is a soul-stirring event, if we have a book of poems in our hands for even half an hour and let ourselves be filled up by their message.
Music
The impact of Protestantism also affected the world of music. The reformation of Sunday service music consisted of including people in the singing of hymns in liturgy. The answer to the word of God was the song of the congregation. The Reformed Psalms, the Lutheran chorals, were all modern achievements of their age. The songs spoke about the artistic expression of the beliefs, doubts and creeds of men. The praises of the greatness and grace of God are sung prayers that help the soul to lift up to God. These sunf expressions are still in use until today, and through them, the faith of Christians has been expressed for centuries.
However, centuries have passed and the music is undergoing changes as well. The melodies popular for today's youngsters are quite different than the melodies of the past centuries. We need new Christian songs so that young people can feel at home in church services. These songs, mostly accompanied by guitar or by smaller orchestra, are called youth songs.
Tip
Let's read a book that has long been forgotten, though it was once a great experience! Learn new songs! If you can, let's get involved in a choir's work.
God's word
"Let the Lord be praised. Give praise to God in his holy place: give him praise in the heaven of his power. Give him praise for his acts of power: give him praise in the measure of his great strength. Give him praise with the sound of the horn: give him praise with corded instruments of music. Give him praise with instruments of brass and in the dance: give him praise with horns and corded instruments. Give him praise with the loud brass: give him praise with the high-sounding brass. "
(Psalm 150: 1-5)
